I attended massage therapy school at Advanced Massage Therapeutics in Louisville, completing the required 500 hours for national accreditation in May of 2000 with an emphasis on deep tissue, myofascial massage, injury recovery, and Active Isolated Stretching. My ultimate goal right out of school was to work with an athletic team as a sports massage therapist. During school, my spare time was spent working as a staff therapist at Advanced Massage Therapeutics. I then joined the staff of the Training Studio in 2001, where I worked with private training clients and marathon teams. In 2002 I left the Training Studio to start my own business and to further pursue my goal of being a sports team masseuse. During the spring of 2002, I was invited to join the 13 member crew of Team ZISVAW, a four woman bicycle racing team competing in 2002 Race Across America. The Race Across America is a 3000 mile, 24 hour a day bike race from Portland, OR to Pensacola, FL. Upon finishing RAAM, I was asked to join the massage staff of the US triathlon team for International Triathlon Union (World) races. As a massage therapist with Team USA, I currently work with both age group and professional athletes at short and long course triathlon, and short and long course duathlon. This exciting new position gave me the opportunity to travel with the teams to the International Triathlon Union World Championships in Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, New Zealand, Sweden, Denmark, Hawaii and the 2004 Olympic trials in Madiera, Portugal. I also have experience working with the British national team here in the US and the Canadian, German, Australian, Swiss, Kiwi and South African Triathlon teams abroad. The 2005 season was also spent working with private and Team USA clients at 2005 Ironman World Championship in Kona. My Louisville client base has expanded to include athletes of several different sports, from running, biking, swimming to pole vaulting, tennis, field hockey, baseball, golf, basketball, football, soccer, the Louisville Ballet and the even the ever-colorful world of professional wrestling. I’m excited to announce that 2006 finds me moving my business, Inform, back to the Training Studio with several fantastic plans in the works! In the meantime, there are a lot of new faces in the past four years and I’m looking forward to meeting and assisting each and every one of you in achieving all of your fitness goals with confidence and in the best form possible. Thanks and I look forward to meeting you very soon!
