The BYOB cycling program is designed to keep everybody riding throughout the winter months. The program includes (2) sessions each week, Wednesday evenings from 7:00pm – 8:00pm and Sunday mornings from 8:30-10:30am. We structure the program around various Spinervals workouts, Ironman DVD’s and even some full length feature films. The rides during the week are generally 45-55 minutes in length and will include technique specific applications, like hill repeats, one-leg drills, tempo work and threshold training. The Sunday rides will be more low-key, aerobically-based programs designed to keep your base mileage up. We do invite all levels to participate.

The cost associated with our Indoor Cycling program is a flat rate for the entire 4 months (pro-rated amounts are available on a monthly basis).

Members = $150 (WOW, are you kidding me, that’s only $3.13/hour!) Non-members = $200

Walk-ins are also welcome for a nominal fee: $10/members & $15/non-members

By the way, indoor spinning at The Training Studio is not the same as the traditional spin class at the local health club. Our spin sessions require that each participant bring his or her bike and an indoor trainer. We also offer complimentary trainer storage for those that pay for the entire four month program.

Space is limited to the first 20 people. Register now to secure a spot!

We have two very important announcements. First and foremost, don’t forget about the Fitness Challenge this weekend (10/1) at our river road facility. Please feel free to stop by anytime between 12-2 to get evaluated. The entire process should take 20-30 minutes. Here are the details:

The inaugural Training Studio Fitness Challenge will be held Saturday, October 1st from 12-2pm. This is truly one event you will not want to miss, the next one will not be until January.

The Training Studio Fitness Challenge is designed to track and/or monitor several different apsects of your overall fitness level. The Challenge is free to all existing members of either Training Studio location. Friends are welcome to attend for a nominal $20 fee. Use the Fitness Challenge to monitor your progress and evaluate your existing fitness plan or utilize it as a friendly competition with some buddies. We plan to test flexibility, posture, strength, endurance, body fat and even TRX strength. This will be a very fun and exciting event that you won’t want to miss. We are setting aside two hours on a Saturday at the beginning of each quarter for this event.

One more quick note. There is another event being held down on the Waterfront this weekend that will have River road closed Saturday morning. Those planning to attend the Saturday morning training sessions can simply tell the officers blocking the road that they are attending a class at The Training Studio and they SHOULD let you go through.

We also will have this same issue next weekend (10/8) with the upcoming Breast Cancer walk. This time the roads will however be completely closed. Participants will have to park down on river road on the other side of Frankfort avenue and jog towards The Training Studio for a little warm up.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, but this is out of our control.

Have a great day! Hope to see everyone Saturday!

Good afternoon everyone,

I have a few quick announcements to make. First on the docket is the Saturday Yoga class. We have decided to discontunue this program until the fall. This was a short term trial to see what level of interest was out there. For those still interested in keeping the yoga spirit alive, we have a very nice opportunity from Dana and our friends at WeYoga. They are offerring a free class to any Training Studio people. Just mention the Training Studio when you attend. Click on the link above for more details about the facility and/or class schedules. I know off-hand that Dana teaches a class every Saturday at 9:15am. Give them a try.

Next topic, our fall run/walk program. We have a very busy and exciting program lined up for you this fall. As you may recall, the mileage focus shifts from mini marathon to full marathon beginning in June, but don’t let that discourage any of you mini marathoners. Everyone is always welcome, just adjust your mileage accordingly. Some might have to turn around earlier than others. We have several great opportunities to keep your competitive spirit alive and compete again this fall in either a full or half marathon. Our marathon focus this year will be on two races, we plan to send representatives from The Training Studio to both the St. Louis Rock-n-Roll Marathon (10/23/11) and the Columbus Marathon (10/16/11). Check out the links for more info. Both of these events also have half marathons at the same time. Those that would like to stay local also have some new exciting opportunities for a fall half marathon. Check out the HomeRun Half Marathon (10/30/11) or the Louisville Sports Commision Half Marathon (11/12/11)

The fall program kicks off Saturday, June 4th at 7:30am. Come join us for an awesome fall season of running or walking. We hope to see everyone on the 4th.

Have a great afternoon!

Dale

I know everyone is getting tired of all of these messages, but this is our easiest way to get the word out. The flooding seems to have subsided for a little while, but now we have another problem.

Our only access to the river road facility (Preston off Main street) will be blocked this Saturday for the mini and full marathon races. Normally we could just come in from the River road side but that area is still flooded out.

As a result, we have decided to move all (3) training sessions to our St. Matthews facility. The address is 161 St. Matthews avenue, Suite #11 40207. The schedule is as follows: 6am & 9am Functional Strength Training followed by Yoga at 10:30am.

I am very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. We look forward to seeing everyone in St. Matthews.

Have a great afternoon. Try to get out and enjoy some sunshine while we still have it.

Dale
