The fall season has officially started. It’s time to start thinking about registering for a local Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving day. Do a little research on the world wide web and find a Thanksgiving Day race in your local area. What better way to spend Thanksgiving morning.
Don’t forget about the Louisville Sports Commission Half Marathon on 11/12. This is a very important transition time of the year when you can do one of two things. Option one: stay consistent with your weekly running/walking mileage to keep your aerobic base established and stay one step ahead of your training for the Derby Festival Half Marathon, or option two: become a glutton or slug for the next two months and get caught up in the over-indulgence of the holiday season, pick up a few pounds and loose your entire aerobic base.
Those that make the right decision and choose option one can join us for a nice, easy 10 miler this weekend.
Here is our schedule for the remainder of our 2011 training season.
11/5 = 10 mile group run/walk
11/12 = Not meeting as a group, participate in the Louisville Sports Commission Half Marathon instead
11/19 = 10 mile group run/walk (last official group run/walk for 2011)
11/26 = Off for the holiday. Participate in a local Turkey day event instead.
Don’t forget that we have also changed the start time of our Saturday run/walk group to 7:30am.
We hope to see everyone Saturday. Have a great week!
