Nice race prep last week with a fast 8 mile run. Just in case some of you still have questions about race prep or nutrition on the run, check out our Online Running Manual (pages 39-51 for nutrition & 65-67 for race prep)
The time has finally come to participate in the event we have all been waiting for. The famous KDF Mini Marathon takes place this weekend. Take some time to study the race website for important information regarding packet pick-up, course info, parking, restrooms, etc..
The starting area is behind Slugger Field downtown. For those of you that haven’t done this race before, spend some quality time studying the race specifics regarding parking and organization after the race. The finish area is one of the most congested areas I have ever experienced. Everything remotely close to the area is quarantined off with chain link fencing. It is very difficult to get in and out of the area if you don’t research it. Also educate anyone that might be coming to watch about the designated “reunion area” to meet you after the race.
We are trying to organize a group photo for 7:00am in front of Slugger Field (away from the congestion) at the Pee Wee Reese statue. Please try to join us for the photo. Oh, one more thing, don’t forget to wear your favorite Training Studio shirt to show your support. Stacey and I will be out on the course looking for shirts and big smiles for pictures. See everyone Saturday!
Don’t forget, you can still pick up your free pair of Smartwool socks at Ken Combs Running Store. They have a master list of everyone in the group. Stop by ASAP to pick them up.
Once again, I can’t stress enough the importance of recognizing our sponsors. Without these people, this program would not be possible. Here is a list with links for more information about each company.

Don’t forget to study up. Our sponsors have put together what we believe to be the most comprehensive Online Running Manual available. All of your running/walking questions can be answered in this manual. Use the link above to start enjoying this valuable resource.
One more thing, don’t forget to register for the Triple Crown and Mini marathon as soon as you can. The mini marathon in particular will sell out very soon. The longer you wait, the more expensive it gets. See the links below for registration info.
