Training Studio Custom Clothing

I am very excited to announce some big news. We now have a customized clothing store. This portal contains everything from run shirts, singlets or jackets to cycling and even triathlon clothing. We have finalized a common design that will be used for everything. This is some good, quality workout clothing, not your average cotton t-shirt. These products are sublimated (dyed into the fabric), not screen-printed. That is a big difference.

There is however one catch, the Training Studio store front is only open from now until 2/25/18. That means you have 9 days to place an order. We have an arrangement with the manufacturer to fill all of the orders placed and have them directly shipped to us for distribution. If you live out of the Louisville area we can make arrangements to ship orders after they arrive at TS.

Coach Spotlight (Riley Higgins)

The Training Studio is excited to announce that our coaching staff is continuing to grow. Please help us welcome Coach Riley Higgins.

Now let’s get to know Riley a little.

Hello! My name is Riley Higgins and I am so excited to be a part of the Training Studio team! This studio has been a part of my life on and off since high school, helping me through injury and training. When I returned from college I was welcomed back with open arms, so many of you already know me as a client of the studio. The team here is what intrigued me to become a personal trainer. They put such passion into their work and to see myself and those around me begin to transform into the best version of themselves is an indescribable feeling. My goal is to inspire others in the way they have inspired me and bring that same passion to every workout.

I have been involved in sports my entire life so my passion for fitness began at a pretty young age. I really became intrigued after having back surgery in high school. Through this experience I was challenged to get out of my comfort zone in terms of fitness and look at my body in a different light. From there, I was then fortunate enough to play field hockey at Ohio University. I gained a lot of knowledge through those four years on proper body movement, nutrition, and injury prevention. I look forward to sharing what I have learned with others and continuing to grow in this journey.

Riley is going to help us by coaching some of the evening classes at our River Road location. Please welcome her to our fitness family.

Coach Spotlight (Christian Meyer)

The Training Studio is excited to announce that our coaching staff is continuing to grow. Please help us welcome Coach Christian Meyer.

Now let’s get to know Christian a little.

Christian saw the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and exercise from a young age having grown up playing as many sports as he could. This is what eventually led him to pursue a degree and career in an exercise related field. Christian received his degree in Exercise Science in May of 2015 from Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky where he was also a part of Bellarmine’s tennis and basketball team.

Prior to coming to The Training Studio, Christian worked in a physical therapy clinic, and as a personal trainer. He also spent time as a camp counselor for Bellarmine Universities youth basketball camps.

Christian is currently pursuing his Masters degree in Exercise Physiology at the University of Louisville. In his free time he enjoys to workout and plays any sport that is available to him. If he is not playing sports than he is probably watching a sport of some kind whether that be tennis, soccer, or his favorite college team, Duke. Aside from athletics he likes to watch Game of Thrones and Parks and Recreation.

Expect to see Christian teaching early morning classes at both facilities. Help him transition into our fitness family with a warm welcome.

The Training Studio Run/Walk Group (Week 11)

I have two very important announcements. First and foremost, we are NOT meeting as a group in St. Matthews to run this weekend. We have worked the Rodes City Run 10K event into the schedule for those that are interested in completing the Louisville Triple Crown. I would love to get a group photo of everyone participating in the race. If you would like to join us for the photo or if you need a spot to find your running buddies, let’s meet at the McDonald’s on the corner of Broadway and 2nd Street. We will plan to take the picture at 7:30am sharp. Don’t forget to check out the race website for any last minute details about packet pickup, parking, road closures, etc…

Don’t forget to stop by Ken Combs Running Store to pick up your team shirt before the race. We are hoping to get a very large group picture this year. Be sure to wear your “colors” for the picture. We would love to see a large number of TS supporters out there at the race.

We plan to post an entry into the 2015 Run/Walk blog every week with a map, special instructions and friendly reminders. This will be our primary means of communication. Inclement Weather Policy: We only plan to cancel the group activities for two specific things, lightning and excessive ice and snow. The Training Studio Run/Walk Group (Week 9)

Week 4

We are in the process of ordering our team shirts and need your help. Every year we have numerous leftover shirts from those that didn’t bother to pick them up or from ordering too many of various sizes. This year we want to eliminate the waste and hassle of estimating sizes. But to do this we need your help. Please click HERE to review a sizing chart for the shirts we are ordering this year (same as last year). Find the size that suits you and send us a quick email to get added to the list. (getinshape@thetrainingstudio.com) If we do not get an email form you we will just estimate your size. The unisex sizing on the chart is for the men’s sizing (just in case you haven’t already figured that out).

One last reminder, regarding the inclement weather policy we discussed last week. See the RED bullet point below.
