We are excited to finally release our updated training schedule for the River Road facility. Everything has been adjusted and set-up on the existing Mindbody online schedule.
We do have a format change to also discuss with everyone. Effective next week, we will now have two very distinct formats for each workout at the River Road facility.
Monday, Wednesday & Friday sessions are designed with total body strength as the main focus, with less emphasis on cardio. Expect to push above and beyond your comfort zone. Strong focus on higher weights and lower repetitions with some low-intensity cardio every once and a while.
Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday sessions are just the opposite. Expect more of a heart-pumping experience using aerobic and anaerobic intervals mixed with strength exercises using lower weight and higher reps.
One more thing to discuss. We are adding a new educational class called “Back to Basics” on Saturday mornings (9:15am) at the River Road facility. This session is free to the general public. (so tell your friends) This 60 minute educational experience will teach you everything you need to know about the world of strength training. Different topics will be discussed each week on a structured monthly schedule.
- Week 1 = will cover things like proper class format, muscle terminology and the concept of neutral spine.
- Week 2 will discuss the importance of stability training and cover plank positions/variations.
- Week 3 will cover lower body exercises
- Week 4 will cover upper body workout options.
If the particular month involved has a 5th Saturday we plan to use this as an extra bonus. KORT Partners in Physical Therapy, Ken Combs Running Store and TS are teaming up to form a Health/Fitness Expo with Functional Movement Screenings, shoe/clothing demo’s and body fat testing. Those dates for the remaining portion of 2014 will fall on May 31st, August 30th and November 29th.
