Ok, here we go, one more week of tapering before the big event. Enjoy the slightly hilly, but scenic course this weekend. Please take a moment to review the online manual this week to refresh your memory about race prep info and hydration. Enjoy the much needed recovery time and spend it wisely. Think about using this weekends run as a dress rehearsal. Wear the exact outfit (hopefully a Training Studio shirt), run the exact pace and use the same run/walk ratio you plan to use next weekend. Don’t forget to also spend some extra time stretching this week while you are drinking extra water.
This week the marathon group is running 8 miles with the mini marathon group doing 8. Here is the route for this week.
One more quick topic, since we only have 25 actual people registered to do the events in St. Louis, I am not officially obligated to wear a costume. But, in the spirit of having fun and making this a very memorable event, I have decided (out of the kindness of my heart) to don a costume. I have purchased a full costume from head to toe (wig and mask included) specifically for this event. That is all the info I am sharing at this point. My identity will be released on race morning.
Once again, I can’t stress enough the importance of recognizing our sponsors. Without these people, this program would not be possible. Here is a list with links for more information about each company.
